How to Read Container Tailgate Information

The rear doors of every container carry its identity: the owner code and container number with check digit (e.g. ONEU 546658 4), the ISO size-type code (e.g. 45G1), and a weight panel showing MAX GROSS, TARE, NET (payload) and CU.CAP (cubic capacity).

Always check these markings before loading: the payload limits how much you can stuff, and the cubic capacity tells you the theoretical volume available.
